The Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice is organizing the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki International Composer Competition in 2020, whose aim is to commemorate the patron of the Philharmonic on the 10th anniversary of his death. The competition will also be used to promote young composers and broaden the concert repertoire.
The subject of the Competition is composing an a capella choir piece lasting from 5 to 10 minutes. The deadline for submitting works is October 1, 2020.
The following recognised experts have been invited to the Competition Jury:

- Mikołaj Górecki
- Jerzy Kornowicz
- Jarosław Wolanin
- Adam Wesołowski
The award in the competition will be the premiere rendition of the winning piece during the International Days of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, annually organized by the Silesian Philharmonic, and professional audiovisual recording of the premiere rendition.
